Samsung has released the May security update for the Galaxy S22 series
A few days ago, Samsung started updating the Galaxy S22 lineup to the latest current One UI 6.1 firmware. But the update was without the latest security patch for the device. Now Samsung has fixed that and has started rolling out the May security patch for the series.
Here's What We Know
The update has become available for European Galaxy S22 users and has been given the build number S90*BXXSAEXE3. The update contains only the actual security patch, as all the new features have been introduced with the One UI 6.1 firmware. For those not in the know, the sixth character from the end in the build number indicates whether this is a component update or just a security patch. "S" denotes the latter, while Samsung uses "U" to release new features. For example, the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S22 series in Europe had a build number of S90*BXXU9EXE1.
Samsung says the May patch fixes 55 system vulnerabilities, 3 of which are critical. The actual patch will soon be available for Galaxy S22 users from other regions as well.
