Potion: Take-Two did not close Roll7 and Intercept Games
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, assures that he has no plans to close Roll7 and Intercept Games, despite some reports that suggested this.
Here's What We Know
In April, the publisher reported that it planned to lay off 5% of all employees, or about 600 people, to cut costs, which would also lead to the cancellation of unnamed projects. Shortly after that, Bloomberg reported, citing its own sources, that Roll7, OlliOlli and Rollerdrome, and Seattle-based Intercept Games were the victims of such restructuring.
However, in a recent interview, Zelnick said that the studios were not closed, but did not clarify their status:
"We didn’t shutter those studios, to be clear. And we are always looking at our release schedule across all of our studios to make sure that it makes sense.".
When asked again to clarify whether the studios still exist, an IGN reporter received a response from PR: "We have not provided any additional information beyond what I just said."
