Samsung is preparing improvements for the Galaxy Flip 6's screen
Samsung is expected to unveil new foldable smartphones Galaxy Flip 6 and Galaxy Fold 6 in July. Some leaks have already revealed a few details about the upcoming smartphones and now another important feature of the Galaxy Flip 6 has come to light.
Here's What We Know
According to The Elec, Samsung is planning to improve the screen durability of its foldable Galaxy Flip 6 smartphone. The new display is expected to feature a thicker ultra-thin glass (UTG), increasing from 30 to 50 microns. This change should result in improved surface hardness and less creasing on the display.
The improved hardness, in theory, should make the display more durable, which is always an important factor for foldable screens. Less creasing on the display will also be very welcome, as the Flip 5 didn't bring improvements in this regard. The Galaxy Flip 6 is expected to utilise the hinge of the Galaxy Flip 5. However, changes may be offered for the Galaxy Flip 7.
There are speculations that the 2025 Galaxy Flip 7 foldable phone will offer a new hinge and a new UTG structure to further reduce the display crease. Next year is expected to bring an even thicker UTG glass, although this will depend on the new hinge.
