The developers of the failed shooter Immortals of Aveum have started development of a new game on Unreal Engine 5
"Magic" shooter Immortals of Aveum became one of the most high-profile failures of 2023.
Despite a huge budget and the support of Electronic Arts, the game from Ascendant Studios turned out to be mediocre, boring and failed to interest gamers.
As a result, the company had to lay off almost half of its employees and cut costs. But, as it turned out, the team did not lose heart and is already creating a new game.
Here's What We Know
In its blog Ascendant Studios reported that in addition to supporting Immortals of Aveum, the developers are creating a new game on Unreal Engine 5.2, but do not exclude the transition to a more modern version of the engine.
Of course, the details of the game are not revealed yet, but the developers note that every comment, review and purchased copy of Immortals of Aveum makes a significant contribution to the development of the studio and work on the new project.
It is noteworthy that some interesting information was written on the blog, which was later deleted. According to the Game Developer website, it was written that "in the future 100% of net proceeds from Immortals of Aveum sales will go to the studio's account", although it is obvious that according to the original contract some amount was to be allocated to Electronic Arts.
Perhaps the publisher gave up its share in exchange for adding Immortals of Aveum to PS Plus, Game Pass, and EA Play. Or maybe there was a different agreement.
