Android 15 will increase standby battery life to 3 hours
The second beta of Android 15 is now available and it brings some interesting improvements. One of them has to do with standby time.
Here's What We Know
Doze Mode in Android 15 promises to significantly improve standby time with the new updates. According to Dave Burke, Google's vice president of Android development, devices on Android 15 will enter standby mode 50 per cent faster than on Android 14. This means that smartphones on Android 15 can add up to three hours to their standby time. This is an important improvement that will be available for all devices that support Android 15.
It is also reported that Wear OS 5 will consume 20 per cent less battery power than Wear OS 4. This will be possible because Wear OS 5 will become smarter at performing background tasks, and the smart watch will perform most of the background activity when the watch is charging, rather than when it is on the user's wrist.
