Samsung unveils world's first QD-LED display at SID 2024
At SID 2024, Samsung Display, the world's largest OLED screen manufacturer, unveiled a number of innovative technologies, including the world's first QD-LED panel, a glasses-free 3D OLED panel, an OLEDoS display for XR headsets, and ultra-thin OLED panels.
Here's What We Know
Samsung's QD-LED panels can produce RGB colours and backlighting, which makes them similar to OLED and Micro LED, but without the organic material. The company demonstrated a monitor with an 18.2-inch QD-LED panel that has a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels and 250 nits of brightness.
In addition, Samsung Display also introduced the latest generations of QD-OLED panels for monitors and TVs, including a 31.5-inch 4K screen with a 240Hz refresh rate and QD-OLED gaming panels with a 360Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, the company introduced ultra-thin OLED panels for laptops and monitors that are 20% lighter and thinner than rigid OLED panels.
