Sony is preparing to launch a new flagship Xperia PRO-C, a follow-up to the Xperia PRO-I model
As it became known, Sony is preparing a new smartphone with an emphasis on the camera - Xperia PRO-C. It will be a direct continuation of the Xperia PRO-I model, but in a more compact form factor, while maintaining the overall design.
Here's What We Know
Informant @INSIDERSONY has revealed information about the upcoming Xperia novelty in his X account. According to leaks, the new smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There might be other variants of the model as well.
The Xperia PRO-C will be significantly smaller than the Xperia PRO-I and will get a 6-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and anti-reflective coating, compared to the 6.5-inch screen of its predecessor. But the main feature of the flagship will of course be its camera. According to an insider, the smartphone's cameras will have these specifications:
- 50 MP, inch sensor, 20mm, f/1.8 aperture with OIS, 12-bit RAW and 14-bit DCG RAW support (possibly an OmniVision sensor).
- 12 MP camera with autofocus, support for 4K 120 FPS, 10 Bit, 420 S-LOG gamma curve and support for HLG recording. It also supports JPG/60fps for RAW, auto-exposure/autofocus, and support for Sony S-Cine-tone and creative mode.
- 12MP sensor with F 1/2.9 inch, 20mm, F 2.0 with support for 4K 60fps HDR and Sony Creative Look.
The Xperia PRO-C will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with improved 45W Power Delivery charging. Sony is expected to launch the new smartphone in the PRO series in Q4 2024.
