Spotify-like: Apple Music app in iOS 18 will get smart song switching feature

Apple is preparing new features for its music service.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by our colleagues from AppleInsider. The first feature is Smart Song Transitions. It will be an improved version of the current Crossfade function. The innovation will allow you to adjust the delay between song transitions from 1 to 12 seconds. Such a setting is now available on Spotify.

As for Apple Music's current Crossfade feature, it bridges the gap between songs on its own by decreasing the volume of the ending song and increasing the volume of the new one, creating a transition without stopping the music.

Apple is also working on a Passthrough feature for Apple Music, but unfortunately it's not yet known what it will do.

When We Can Expect It

The innovations should arrive in Apple Music with the release of iOS 18.
