Samsung is testing major updates for the Galaxy S24 and S23 flagships, which will be released in June
Samsung is expected to release a major camera update for the Galaxy S24 series next month. This update could fix a number of camera issues that the new flagships have been facing since their launch. It is also reported that a major update is also being prepared for the Galaxy S23 2023 series as well. These flagships may get fixes for the battery drain issues that have been experienced after the One UI 6.1 update.
Here's What We Know
The Samsung Galaxy S24 phones released in January this year have previously received updates with various fixes including camera improvements. The company is known to be preparing another camera update for the new flagships in June, improving their zoom photography, among other things.
Recently discovered firmware builds on Samsung's test servers suggest that the company has started internal testing for the upcoming update. X user and Samsung whistleblower @tarunvats33 recently reported that the Korean firm is testing firmware version S92*BXXU2AXE4 for the Galaxy S24 series.
It has also been reported that the Galaxy S23 series will also get a big update next month. The same source revealed test firmware for the 2023 flagships on Samsung's servers. The build number is S91*BXXU5CXE1. Unfortunately, the list of changes is still unknown, so it is unclear what the company is preparing.
Most likely, in the new update for the Galaxy S23, Samsung will fix the problem with fast battery drain. Several users reported high battery drain after the One UI 6.1 update in late March. Also, some Galaxy Fold 5 and Galaxy Flip 5 users experienced similar issues.
It will be known as early as June whether these flaws will be addressed in the new update for these models.
