Flashback
HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) is a highly mobile artillery rocket system developed by Lockheed Martin for the US Army. HIMARS is a lightweight launcher mounted on a wheeled chassis, which gives it high mobility and speed of deployment. The system is capable of launching both unguided rockets and high-precision GMLRS missiles.
HIMARS' primary missions include destroying artillery positions, command posts, ammunition depots and other critical targets at ranges of up to 300 kilometres using ATACMS missiles. High accuracy and mobility make HIMARS an important element of the modern battlefield.
