The head of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos studios will take a senior position in the management of Embracer Group: the Swedish holding company announced the completion of the restructuring of the business
It is known that the holding Embracer Group has been going through difficult times, went through a complete reformatting of the business, laid off some employees, sold a number of studios, including such well-known ones as Gearbox and Saber Interactive, and closed some divisions.
Finally, the restructuring has been completed, as the company announced in the financial report, and the last point in it will be put by a change in the management team.
Here's What We Know
Deputy CEO and CFO Johan Ekström will step down. He will remain with the company until the end of March 2025 to ensure a smooth handover. It should be noted that Ekström's decision to leave his position at Embracer Group is for personal reasons.
As of 1 June, Phil Rogers, who is CEO of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos studios, will take over as Embracer's deputy CEO. He is also in charge of the Swedish holding company's division, which is temporarily called Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends, and after the reform will become the driving force of Embracer Group's gaming business and will be in charge of developing big-budget projects for such major franchises as The Lord of the Rings and Tomb Raider.
Johan Ekström's deputy Müge Bouillon will become the new CFO.
