The Ukrainian Government has spent over UAH 500 billion on defence since the beginning of 2024
Since the beginning of this year, the Government has begun to invest heavily in Ukraine's defence, with the amount of funds allocated so far exceeding UAH 500 billion.
Here's What We Know
This money is mostly spent on the purchase of modern weapons, military equipment and supplies for our defenders. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
"During this time, every hryvnia of taxpayers' money that comes to the budget has been and is being spent by our Government on weapons, drones, equipment, supplies for our military and their salaries," said Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister stressed that over the 821 days of the full-scale invasion, one of the main achievements of the Government is to ensure the financial stability of the state. Over this time, more than $85 billion in external financing has been attracted.
At the same time, he stressed that the Government can only use the funds of our partners for non-military purposes.
"That is, the Government is financing the defence campaign at the expense of taxpayers' money and military bonds," said Denys Shmyhal.
By the way, more than UAH 1 trillion has been attracted to the budget through military and other bonds. According to him, this made it possible to fully finance key budget expenditures.
