Rheinmetall to start production of artillery shells worth €300 million for unnamed NATO country
The German manufacturer has received a large order to produce artillery shells for an unnamed country, and the deal is estimated to be worth €300 million.
Here's What We Know
The order provides for the supply of tens of thousands of artillery shells, as well as several hundred modular powder charges. The order is to be completed by 2028.
Obviously, this was a result of the urgent need caused by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and now most European countries are seeking to arm their armed forces.
It is worth noting that since 24 February 2022, a large part of the European and American stockpile of 155 mm artillery shells has been rapidly depleted. Therefore, in order to supply Ukraine and meet the needs of NATO countries, Rheinmetall began a large-scale expansion of its production capacity. They acquired several European local producers and invested in accelerating the production of artillery shells.
