Google is launching a redesigned Inbox in Gmail for Android and iOS to help users focus on the most important emails.
Here's What We Know
Gmail has long offered automatic categorisation of inboxes, such as promotional, social, updates, and forums. Now Google is improving the behaviour of the Inbox, Updates folder to better prioritise messages.
The updated folder moves lower-priority emails that may not require immediate attention, such as automated confirmations or receipts, out of the main inbox. This allows owners to focus on important messages in the main inbox.
Users can disable this feature in their Gmail settings.
