Here's What We Know
Omdia forecasts that demand for OLED displays for laptops will grow by 37% from 2023 to 2031. This is due to the fact that many manufacturers are increasingly using OLED screens in their premium laptops and tablets.
Ricky Park, senior analyst at Omdia, said that the launch of the OLED MacBook Pro could significantly increase demand for OLED screens. They are expected to sell more than 60 million units by 2031.
A 13-inch OLED MacBook Air is currently being developed, with Samsung supplying the screen. This laptop will use 6th-generation OLED screens, while the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro will have improved 8th-generation screens. Samsung is investing $3 billion in the development of this technology.
