Opera has announced a new partnership with Google that will see them use Gemini artificial intelligence models to improve the features of its Aria AI browser.
Here's What We Know
This includes image generation with Imagen 2, as well as improved text-to-speech in a "conversation mode". Opera offers Chromium-based browsers for all platforms and is one of the most popular browsers.
According to StatCounter, it is the second most popular browser that does not come pre-installed on devices. And soon it will use Google Gemini.
Note that this is not a direct integration of Gemini as a chatbot, but the use of Gemini models behind the scenes to enhance the functionality of Opera's intelligence capabilities.
