Fitbit Ace LTE is Google's first $230 kids' smartwatch
Google has unveiled the first smartwatch for kids. The model is called Fitbit Ace LTE, and externally resembles the Fitbit Versa.
Here's What We Know
Fitbit Ace LTE is equipped with a square display with a pixel density of 333 ppi. The OLED panel is protected by third-generation Gorilla Glass. The casing is made of plastic and the water protection meets the 5ATM standard. The dimensions are 41 x 44.9 x 13.35 mm.
The smart watch has got accelerometer, altimeter, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC. The Fitbit Ace LTE features a 328 mA*h battery. It provides more than 16 hours of work without recharging.
An interesting feature of the watch is the pre-installed games that encourage physical activity in children. The more a child moves, the more time they can play.
Fitbit Ace LTE is home to the Eejie pets. It is an analogue of Tamagotchi. The health of the pet also depends on the physical activity of the owner of the watch. The more mobile the child is, the happier Eejie becomes.
LTE support allows the smartwatch to make calls and send messages. However, these features, like the ability to share location, are only available with an Ace Pass subscription. The Fitbit Ace LTE is compatible with iOS and Android smartphones, and uses the Fitbit Ace app for control.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Fitbit Ace LTE has been priced at $230. Sales of the smartwatch will start on 5 June 2024. You have to pay $10 per month for Ace Pass, but until 31 August, the annual subscription price has been halved.
