The Luxembourg government has financed the purchase of the Caesar self-propelled artillery unit for Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the French Defence Minister. Luxembourg has contributed 5m euros to the artillery coalition. That is, the government of the country paid for the production of one installation. Given the size of Luxembourg and its population of about 650,000 people, this is a significant contribution to the defence capability of the Ukrainian army.

By the way, apart from Luxembourg, many European countries have already joined the artillery coalition. Thanks to this, Ukraine should receive 78 self-propelled Caesar artillery units by the end of the year. They will be transferred to the AFU gradually.

For those who do not know

Caesar is a French self-propelled artillery unit developed by Nexter Systems. It is equipped with a 155 mm howitzer and is designed for high-precision firing at a range of up to 40 km using standard ammunition and up to 55 km using active-jet shells. Caesar is mounted on a wheeled chassis, which ensures high mobility and quick change of positions. It is equipped with an automatic guidance and fire control system. Caesar is actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war against Russian invaders.
