Samsung smartphones won't get Google's new Instant Hotspot feature
Google has announced seven new features coming soon to Android phones. Among them are editing messages in Google Messages, improved services for working on different devices, and a new Instant Hotspot feature.
Here's What We Know
This option makes it easier to create hotspots between your Android phone and your tablet or Chromebook without the need for passwords or QR codes.
However, Samsung users will not be able to use this feature. This information was documented in the fine print on the Android Feature Drop page, which states that Instant Hotspot is not available on Samsung devices.
Although the reasons for this decision by Google remain unknown, normally all Android Drop features should work on all Google-certified Android phones with Google Play services.
