A new frontier in electric vehicle evaluation: AnTuTu introduces a benchmark for infotainment systems
AnTuTu, the famous benchmark developer, has decided to enter the electric car market. In May 2024, the company unveiled a new app to evaluate the performance of infotainment system in electric vehicles. This tool is designed to standardise the evaluation of user experience by analysing the functionality of such systems.
Here's What We Know
Similar to its smartphone counterpart, AnTuTu EV Benchmark evaluates chipset performance, RAM and storage to generate a comprehensive performance score. The first ratings, collected in May 2024, showed which car manufacturers are focusing on smooth and responsive infotainment experiences.
Zeekr 007, Xpeng X9 and Mercedes EQE topped the ranking, demonstrating impressive performance of their electronic entertainment systems. Other notable electric cars such as the Xpeng P7i, Nio ET7, Polestar 2 and Audi Q4 e-tron also made it to the ranking. The recently launched Xiaomi SU7, although it started with a low score, performed significantly better in the subsequent test, which lifted it to fourth place. It is important to note that the Xiaomi SU7's good performance is due to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip.
AnTuTu EV Benchmark will take some time to gain momentum and gather a larger database after which it will be interesting to see which brand has the fastest infotainment system.
