Today, it was revealed that Samsung is ending official support for one of its famous mid-range 2020 smartphones, the Galaxy A41. This device, which has confirmed the trend of increasing smartphone sizes, will no longer receive software updates.

Here's What We Know

A few days ago, the Galaxy A41 received its latest security update. The firmware is just under 227 MB in size and installs software version A415FXXXX8DXE2. The update includes a security patch up to and including May 2024.

The Galaxy A41 was the last in Samsung's line of compact mid-budget phones and its withdrawal of support is a landmark event for the market. Despite this, users can continue to use their devices as the latest security update was released recently and still ensures relevance in terms of protection until the next six months.

Samsung in 2020 promised three years of updates for its A-series devices, but in 2021, the company extended that to four years. Thus, the Galaxy A41 has received all the planned updates and is now officially out of supported models.

Nevertheless, thanks to Google Play system updates, important components of the device will continue to be updated, which will still keep the phone up to date.
