Ukrainian intelligence using maritime drones destroyed Russian tugboat Project 498 "Saturn" (video)

A special unit of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate struck a Russian Project 498 Saturn tugboat off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea on 6 June.

What is known

The video, which was published by the press service of the GSD, shows how the drones bypassed the harbour defences and hit the vessel. As a result of the operation, the tugboat Project 498 "Saturn" was completely destroyed.

Flashback

The 498 "Saturn" is a multi-purpose sea tug of the Russian Navy designed for towing ships and floating structures. "The Saturn also performs salvage operations and provides logistical support to the fleet. It is an important element of russia's maritime infrastructure.
