Live Translate feature of Galaxy AI will soon support Facebook Messenger, Google Meet, Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp
Samsung has announced that Live Translate, which debuted on the Galaxy S24, will soon be expanded to third-party apps. Currently, this option is only compatible with the standard Phone app on Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
Here's What We Know
Once Live Translate is expanded to third-party apps, gadget owners will be able to use real-time language translation during calls made using apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp.
Although the company hasn't named the apps that will be compatible with Live Translate, it's likely that all popular VoIP calling apps such as Facebook Messenger, Google Meet, Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp will be included.
Here's How It Works
The Live Translate feature translates your voice into the desired language of the other person, and the other person's voice into the language you prefer. A live transcription of this two-way language translation is displayed on the phone screen.
Samsung notes that its research and development centres around the world (including China, India, Poland, and Vietnam) helped create Live Translate. The role of its employees working in different countries and speaking different languages has helped the company understand the nuances of local languages and accents.
