Apple Mail in iOS 18 with AI will help you create and reply to emails

Apple Mail in iOS 18 will get significant improvements with new AI capabilities, including powerful search, generative smart replies, and email composing help.

Here's What We Know

According to a new report from AppleInsider, Apple Mail in iOS 18 will be able to provide more information when you search your email. The app will integrate information from the contact list, location data, and locally stored documents to make searches more efficient and useful. For example, when searching, users will be able to see not only emails containing a keyword, but also additional data related to contacts or locations from which the emails were sent.

Smart Replies will leverage Apple's on-device broadcast model known as Ajax. Combined with Siri's deep integration with Apple Mail, these "smart replies" will automatically suggest themselves to the user when they write or reply to an email.

A new framework for writing with Siri that allows device owners to instantly change the style or tone of their emails using Siri voice commands. For example, a user can ask Siri to "Make this text more professional" or "Make this text more friendly".

Additional enhancements related to Project BlackPearl include automatic categorisation of emails based on content, email summaries, and message summaries.
