DuckDuckGo offers AI Chat with a focus on privacy
DuckDuckGo, a search engine with a bias towards privacy, has introduced AI Chat, a free anonymous chatbot that allows access to popular artificial intelligence models.
Here's What We Know
AI Chat is private and allows users to choose between proprietary models (OpenAI GPT 3.5 Turbo, Anthropic Claude 3 Haiku) and open source models (Meta Llama 3 and Mistral Mixtral 8x7B). Users can easily switch between them and choose their moderation level. The company states that everything you do with these chatbots is between you and them and this information will not be used to train future or existing models.
It also emphasises that all metadata is removed from the logs and that the agreements when creating these AI chatbots ensure that everything is removed from the servers within 30 days.
The DuckDuckGo chatbot has already launched and has both a free version with a daily limit and a paid version with improved AI models.
