Blogger successfully installed Android on Rabbit R1, the device works flawlessly under the new operating system (video)
Android proved to be the perfect fit for the Rabbit R1, which was originally released with the company's proprietary LAM-based operating system. With the help of a simplified installation process, the device now works almost exactly as it was intended, supporting the full functionality of Android.
Here's What We Know
The Rabbit R1 is a gadget with its own artificial intelligence that uses voice commands to interact with applications and perform various tasks and does not require the installation of separate apps.
HowToMen posted a video showing that Rabbit R1 can run a standard version of Android rather than the specialised Rabbit OS. It turned out that the device runs Android perfectly, supporting the full functionality that the company promised but failed to deliver with its proprietary software.
The installation of Android on the Rabbit R1 was made possible by the R1 Escape project available on GitHub. This project uses the same process as HowToMen, although it is not officially supported.
Rabbit R1 can work with Google Assistant and perform functions that were previously unavailable.
