Apple Intelligence's new artificial intelligence features can only support two iPhone models at the moment
At its annual developer conference WWDC 2024, Apple announced a significant step in artificial intelligence, unveiling new features for iPhone, iPad and Mac under the common name Apple Intelligence. This is similar to how Samsung is bundling its AI features under the Galaxy AI brand and Google under the Gemini name.
Here's What We Know
Unfortunately, not all iPhone owners will be able to take advantage of Apple Intelligence. Due to hardware limitations, only two existing iPhone models will support these features: the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Thanks to the A17 Pro chipset in these devices, they are the only ones capable of supporting AI features running with Apple Intelligence.
Of course, the launch of the iPhone 16 is coming soon. According to rumours, all iPhone 16 models, including non-Pro versions, will get the new A18 chip, which almost certainly means that all iPhone 16 models will support Apple Intelligence features. Even if Apple doesn't do this and keeps the A18 only for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, it would mean that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus would get the A17 Pro, which currently supports Apple Intelligence. Either way, the support will extend to all iPhone 16 models.
