Avowed will feature a third-person mode: the game director revealed a lot of details about the ambitious game and showed a walkthrough of several quests
The Xbox Podcast hosted an extensive gameplay demonstration of Obsidian's ambitious RPG Avowed.
Avowed's game director Carrie Patel was present on the broadcast and revealed a lot of interesting information about the game.
Here's What We Know
Gamers were shown colorful locations of the Emerald Stair region, multifaceted and varied dialogues with characters, different options for completing quests, battles with numerous enemies, use of magic and different weapons.
Kerry Patel said that for Obsidian it was important to give players maximum freedom of action, which concerned all aspects of Avowed: gamers will be able to go wherever they want and do any activity, build relationships with characters and generally determine how the game's story unfolds.
In addition, for the first time it was revealed that Avowed can be played with a third-person camera, although the first-person view will still be a priority.
The broadcast also showed the Party Camp - a place where the player can rest, chat with his companions, change equipment and prepare for the next outing.
Kerry Patel paid attention to the character development system in Avowed - it's not too complicated and will be familiar to any RPG fan.
Attributes can be improved at certain stages of leveling up, and at each level up stage you can choose a new ability.
When We Can Expect It
Avowed is expected to release in late 2024 on PC and Xbox Series, the game will be available immediately on the service including Game Pass.
