The other day we wrote that the Netherlands together with Sweden and Denmark will buy CV90 infantry fighting vehicles for the AFU. Now it has become known when the delivery of weapons will begin.

When We Can Expect It

As reported by Defence News, referring to the statement of the Ministry of Defence of the Netherlands, the first new CV90 Ukraine will receive in 2026. The Netherlands will invest 400 million euros in the production of BMPs for Ukraine. By the way, the combat vehicles will be produced by Dutch companies. The Netherlands has already agreed with Sweden to set up a factory in the country. By the way, apart from the Netherlands, Ukraine also wants to produce CV90 on its territory.

Flashback

CV90 is a modern infantry fighting vehicle developed by the Swedish company BAE Systems Hägglunds. It was put into service in 1993. The CV90 is designed to transport and protect infantry units as well as provide fire support on the battlefield. The vehicle is equipped with a 30mm or 40mm automatic cannon, as well as machine guns and anti-tank missiles.

The CV90 is highly mobile due to its powerful engine and tracked chassis, which allows it to move effectively over rough terrain. The vehicle's armour provides protection against mines, artillery shrapnel and small arms fire. Advanced fire control and navigation systems improve accuracy and combat effectiveness. The CV90 can also be equipped with additional modules such as active defence systems and improved communications. This BMP is in service with many countries, including Ukraine.
