WhatsApp is looking to improve its video calling capabilities by introducing a number of new features that make the platform more flexible and easy to use, especially for professional purposes.
Here's What To Expect
- Screen sharing with audio: The feature will allow users to not only share their screens during video calls, but also stream audio, making it ideal for sharing videos, presentations, and project collaboration.
- Increasing thenumber of video call participants to 32: WhatsApp is significantly expanding the capabilities of its video calls by increasing the maximum number of participants to 32 across all devices. This makes the platform a worthy competitor to apps like Zoom for hosting large virtual meetings and webinars.
- Speaker highlighting: To improve the dynamics of group video calls, WhatsApp is introducing a 'speaker highlighting' feature. This feature will visually highlight who is currently speaking, making it easier for participants to follow the conversation, especially in large groups.
- Improved audio and video quality: WhatsApp is looking to improve the overall video calling experience with improved noise cancellation. Additionally, the platform will support higher resolutions for users with faster internet connections, as well as an overall improvement in audio quality for all consumers, regardless of their device or connection.
The new updates will be gradually rolled out over the coming weeks.
