On the eve of the premiere of the House of the Dragon sequel, HBO has officially confirmed production on the third season of the Game of Thrones prequel

In two days - 16 June - on the streaming service Max will premiere the first episode of the second season of the series "House of the Dragon" (House of the Dragon), which is a prequel to "Game of Thrones".

The first season was well received by the public. The film company HBO not only hopes for the success of the second season, but has already confirmed that the series will not end on it.

Here's What We Know

HBO officially announced the production of the third season of "House of the Dragon". Of course, the timing of its release is not yet voiced, but, obviously, it should be expected no earlier than 2026.

Series Overview

House of the Dragon is set about 100 years after the unification of the Seven Kingdoms under the Targaryens and long before the twists and turns of Game of Thrones. Viewers are shown the events leading up to the war of succession known as the Dance of Dragons.

Flashback

"House of the Dragon" received high marks for character development and elaboration, visual effects, script and acting. The first season premiere was watched by over 10 million viewers, which was a record for HBO.

The series won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series and Emma D'Arcy was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rhaenyra Targaryen.
