Rumour: Samsung Galaxy Ring will charge using a headphone case (photo)
Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy Ring, which is expected next month, and now it has become known how this gadget will charge.
Here's What We Know
Contrary to previous speculation about a magnetic or other attachment system, an image posted by Ice Universe on Weibo suggests that the Galaxy Ring will use a charging case similar to a headphone case.
In the image, the white plastic case with the Samsung logo has a raised part in the centre where the ring will be placed. Charging will be done via contacts, as seen in early images of the Galaxy Ring.
The two lines on the case and the ring itself will likely help users to position the ring correctly for charging.
This method of charging is similar to what RingConn uses for its smart ring as well as its headphones.
Unlike Oura, which uses a charging station, the case may be more convenient for travelling.
Given that Samsung claims a battery life of up to nine days for the Galaxy Ring, you probably won't need to charge it that often.
When We Can Expect It
The Samsung Galaxy Ring will be unveiled on 10 July alongside new foldable smartphones, smartwatches and other new products.
