Nothing head Carl Pei has personally revealed some of the features of the upcoming Nothing OS 3.0 system
Nothing is preparing to release an update to its Nothing OS 3.0, which promises to bring new lock screen features and interactive animations to quick settings. Nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei shared images of the new features on his X account.
Here's What We Know
Users will get three lock screen customisation options: a standard view with clock, date and day of the week; a "Clock + Widget" option that shows the time in dots and three on-screen widgets - weather, shortcuts and date; and a third option, "Expanded Widget Area" that includes an analogue clock, a large date widget and widgets for quick actions, weather and contacts.
Pei also shared information about the upcoming interactive dot animation, which will consist of three different layers: an input image layer, a live interaction layer, and a final output layer.
Nothing OS 3.0 is expected to include a new and improved gallery app and a dedicated community app. Nothing OS 3.0 is scheduled to be officially announced in September. The last major update, Nothing OS 2.0, was released by the company in August last year. The update will be available for Nothing Phone (1), Nothing Phone (2) and Nothing Phone (2a).
