The Thing Remastered developers talk about "improving the quality of life" in the game in a new episode of "Deep Dive"
Nightdive Studios has recently released several exciting remakes and remasters of games, including System Shock and Star Wars: Dark Forces, however, The Thing Remastered may be the most anticipated, giving modern audiences the opportunity to play the 2002 horror shooter.
Here's What We Know
In the first episode of Deep Dive, producer Locke Vincent sits down with director Mark Atkinson to discuss the remaster. Atkinson discusses the challenges of development and where to draw the line between remakes and remasters. He confirmed that there will be some "quality of life" improvements in the future that the original team was not happy with.
These improvements include polishing up the game's locations where players can get stuck with equipment. While there is no story mode in the game, there are some "scaling difficulties". Atkinson also promised that the game will be as good or even better than the original with updated visuals that still look pretty good. Another question is whether the game will have the ability to switch between the original and new versions.
Where To Play
After the release, the game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
When We Can Expect It
The Thing: Remastered will be released later this year.
