Xiaomi has unveiled a solar panel for outdoor camera with IP66 protection and 5W of power

Xiaomi has announced a new useful accessory for street surveillance cameras.

We are talking about a 5W solar panel, thanks to which you can power the street camera even when the light is off.

The novelty is made of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon. Xiaomi claims that the solar panel is effective if it gets up to 3 hours of direct sunlight every day. The new product has IP66 water and dust protection. The device also features a waterproof USB-C charging cable and a port with soft rubber construction.

By the way, the solar panel is only compatible with the Xiaomi BW500 camera right now. Later the manufacturer will add support for other models.

The solar panel can already be bought in China for $27.
