Russia wants to seize more territory before the first F-16s arrive in Ukraine
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, said that Russian troops are increasing their attacks and trying to seize more territory before the Ukrainian Armed Forces receive foreign military assistance, including F-16 fighter jets.
Here's What We Know
"The enemy is well aware that as a result of the gradual receipt of a significant amount of weapons and military equipment from our partners, the arrival of the first F-16s, which will strengthen our air defence, time will play in our favour, and his chances of success will decrease," explained Syrsky.
That is why the Russian military command is currently trying its best to increase the intensity and expand the geography of hostilities. The goal of the occupiers is to exhaust Ukrainian troops as much as possible, disrupt the training of reserves and prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from engaging in active offensive actions.
Syrsky also added that Russian troops are concentrated in Donetsk region, in particular on the Pokrovsk front.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this weekend at a peace summit in Switzerland that the current level of military aid from abroad is still insufficient and that supplies are arriving late.
