The Philippine Army has received the first batch of additional S-70i Black Hawk helicopters in service.

Here's What We Know

The helicopters came from Poland. They were delivered to the Philippines with the help of the Ukrainian transport aircraft An-124 Ruslan. The first batch consists of 5 helicopters. In total, the Philippine Army has ordered 32 additional S-70i Black Hawk. The contract for the delivery of the aircraft was signed in 2022. The S-70i Black Hawk is assembled in Poland at the Sikorsky PZL Mielec plant (a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin).

The S-70i Black Hawk is a multi-role helicopter developed by Sikorsky Aircraft (owned by Lockheed Martin). The S-70i is an export version of the famous UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and is designed to perform a wide range of missions, including troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue and special operations support. The helicopter is equipped with advanced avionics and navigation systems. The S-70i can carry up to 11 fully equipped soldiers and has a high payload capacity. The S-70i Black Hawk is in service with many countries around the world.
