The French arms company Thales recently signed several agreements with the Ukrainian defence industry at the Eurosatory exhibition.

Here's What We Know

The French company's agreements relate to one of the enterprises of the Ukrainian Defence Industry Joint Stock Company (formerly Ukroboronprom).

According to the first agreement, Thales may establish a joint venture in Ukraine to produce electronic warfare equipment, tactical communications equipment, air defence systems and radars.

The second agreement covers electronic warfare equipment, under which Thales will provide extensive maintenance, testing and specialised training of equipment in Ukraine.

And in a separate, third agreement signed with FRDM, a Ukrainian company specialising in various drones, Thales wants to jointly develop and produce a UAV capable of carrying and firing ammunition.

"These agreements are aimed at strengthening operational support to the frontline operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and strengthening local defence capabilities," Thales commented.
