Turkey wants to produce 12 Kizilelma jet UAVs per year
The Turkish company Baykar intends to produce 12 Kizilelma jet UAVs per year.
Here's What We Know
The design for the Kizilelma jet drone was first shown in 2021. According to the information, the system was to be used on the Turkish TCG Anadolu (L-400) universal landing ship. At the time, the UAV was called MİUS, which stands for Muharip İnsansız Uçak Sistemi.
Kizilelma was supposed to make its maiden flight in 2023, but managed to launch it in December 2022. A month later, the combat unmanned aerial vehicle successfully completed its second test flight.
It is worth noting that Baykar ordered AI-322F and AI-25TLT jet engines from the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Ivchenko-Progress in 2021 to be integrated into a promising Turkish drone.
