MBDA has unveiled a new cruise missile at the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition in Paris.

Here's What We Know

The novelty was named LCM (Land Cruise Missile). The missile will be launched from ground launchers.

According to the manufacturer, the LCM is based on the NCM (Naval Cruise Missile), which is launched from ships. The novelty received a high-precision guidance system. Unfortunately, the range of LCM manufacturer does not disclose yet, but says that the new missile will be able to hit targets deep behind enemy lines.

By the way, according to our colleagues from Militarnyi, LCM can become an analogue of the American system MRC (Mid-Range Capability aka Typhon), which is based on the Tomahawk missile.

Flashback

The Mid-Range Capability (MRC) system, also known as Typhon, is a new development of the US Navy designed to enhance missile and air defence capabilities. This system uses Tomahawk cruise missiles to engage targets at medium ranges. The Tomahawk, which is highly accurate and has a range of up to 1,600 kilometres, allows Typhon to effectively neutralise a variety of threats, including enemy ships, radars and other strategic targets.

Mid-Range Capability (MRC) system

MRC/Typhon integrates with existing fire control and radar systems. The system can be installed on a variety of platforms, including land mobile systems and ships.
