Huawei has officially announced the start of HarmonyOS NEXT beta testing and plans its commercial launch later this year
At the recent Huawei developer conference, the company announced the start of beta testing of the new HarmonyOS NEXT operating system. The company's CEO Yu Chengdong emphasised the significant progress in the development of the HarmonyOS ecosystem, which will be available for commercial use at the end of this year.
Here's What We Know
HarmonyOS NEXT is a unified intelligent operating system capable of unifying different devices and usage scenarios. Developed in China, the system promises a 30 per cent increase in performance and a 20 per cent reduction in power consumption. This opens up new possibilities for users by providing them with a more efficient and enhanced operating system experience.
Huawei is inviting developers and users to participate in the beta test, offering a limited number of spots to 3,000 people. Participant recruitment runs from 21 June to 28 June 2024. Participants must sign a confidentiality agreement and complete registration procedures. Supported devices include the latest Huawei smartphones and tablets such as the HUAWEI Mate 60 series smartphones, HUAWEI Mate X5 and HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet.
