Apple Intelligence features will not work in the European Union
Apple recently unveiled some exciting new features along with iOS 18, including an artificial intelligence platform called Apple Intelligence. But as it turns out, it won't work everywhere.
Here's What We Know
According to Apple's statement, users from the European Union will not get the new features due to regulatory issues related to the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
It's not just about Apple Intelligence, but also iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen Sharing. The former feature allows control of the iPhone on a connected Mac, while the latter enables sharing. Simply put, a user can control the screen of another person's gadget while using the SharePlay feature to assist them.
Apple is now trying to figure out how to make the new functionality compatible with European Union competition rules. It is still unclear how long this will take and what changes Apple may have to make in order to introduce the new features under the DMA.
