Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Galaxy A42 gets June security update

European users of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G are reportedly getting an update that brings a new security patch dated June 2024 to the phone.

This week, the Galaxy A42 5G received the June security update in Europe which is likely to be the last one for it. The smartphone was released in November 2020 and 4 years of updates were promised for it. As of now, the smartphone is on the final stretch with two updates per year and since the A42 5G has already received its first update in January this year, the June security update will be the last one for it.

This update brings no changes to the device other than a new security patch. The June patch fixes 59 vulnerabilities found in Android and One UI. 22 vulnerabilities affect only Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
