The Galaxy S25 could still get the Exynos 2500 for most markets, if Samsung manages to successfully manufacture the chips in the right quantity

Samsung is still considering using its Exynos 2500 chipset in its Galaxy S25 line of smartphones for most markets. This decision could become a reality if the company can improve the manufacturing performance of the new chip.

It was recently reported that Samsung may use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip in the entire Galaxy S25 smartphone lineup and in all markets. The reason for this is the high defect rate in the production of Exynos 2500 chips.

However, according to the latest reports, Samsung has managed to improve the manufacturing process, which has led to an increase in the percentage of working chips to 20 per cent. However, it needs to reach a minimum of 60% to start mass production. Time is running out and Samsung needs to realise these plans before the fourth quarter of this year to be able to introduce the Exynos 2500 in time for the Galaxy S25 devices, slated for release in the first quarter of 2025. But there is still time for the company to improve production and it continues to work on improving the quality of the finished chips.

Meanwhile, rumours suggest that the Exynos 2500 could overtake the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in terms of power efficiency thanks to the new second-generation 3nm process. Regardless, the high defect rate remains a risk to the viability of mass production of the Exynos 2500. If the minimum threshold of quality products is not reached in time, it could hit the company's financial and reputation.
