Final Fantasy XVI developers hinted about porting the game to Xbox and reminded about the imminent release of the PC version of the action game
The highly acclaimed action game Final Fantasy XVI has turned one year old.
At the moment the game remains a PlayStation 5 exclusive, but the developers from Square Enix reminded that this will change soon.
Here's What We Know
The fact that Final Fantasy XVI will be coming to PC in 2024 Japanese developers announced a long time ago, but it is still unknown whether the game will be released on Xbox.
Insiders have already repeatedly said that the action will be available on American consoles. This is indirectly confirmed by Square Enix's new strategy, according to which the company will abandon exclusive games in favour of multiplatform projects and port some of the already released titles to other devices.
The developers have not yet said directly that they will release Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox, but in honour of the anniversary of the game's release a statement to gamers on behalf of game director Hiroshi Takai (Takai Hiroshi) was published. He thanked the public for their interest in the game and hinted that the company is "committed to making it available to as many people as possible across multiple platforms." This phrase can be interpreted as another hint about porting FF16 to Xbox, besides, the Japanese company not only announced a new strategy, but also announced its intention to expand cooperation with Microsoft.
Perhaps there will be interesting announcements in the near future - Hiroshi Takai urged to keep an eye on news from Square Enix.
