On trend: OnePlus phones have started shipping without bundled chargers in some regions
OnePlus seems to be starting to join the trend of not having a charging unit in the bundle of its smartphones, which was first introduced by Apple, and later Samsung picked up the initiative.
Here's What We Know
The company has decided not to include chargers in the package of some models of its smartphones in certain regions. This applies to the European and UK versions of the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite, which was recently announced. The Indian version, on the other hand, will still come with the adapter. This move follows a similar decision for the OnePlus 12R, which also came without a charger in some countries.
This innovation may reflect a general trend in the industry where smartphone manufacturers are no longer including chargers in their bundles, either in a bid to reduce their environmental impact or using it as an opportunity to make extra money when the branded power supply will have to be bought separately. So far, OnePlus has not commented in any way on the lack of bundled power supply in some smartphones in some countries.
