US carriers activate RCS for iPhone users with iOS 18 beta 2
Some mobile operators in the US have activated RCS support for iPhone users using the updated iOS 18 beta.
Here's What We Know
According to 9to5Mac users and staff, a new toggle in iOS 18 beta 2 allows you to send and receive advanced RCS messages.
The enhanced RCS service on iPhone includes the ability to send audio and large media files, as well as support for read notifications. For now, RCS messages are displayed with green bubbles, but in the Messages app they are marked as "Text Message - RCS".
However, not all operators currently support this feature, as updates are still being implemented.
How To Switch It On
Owners who want to try out RCS on their iPhone with iOS 18 beta 2 can check the availability of this option in Settings, Apps, Messages.
The public version of iOS 18 is expected to be released this autumn, with RCS support updates from other carriers in the future.
