Mozilla has started testing an artificial intelligence chatbot in its Firefox browser
Mozilla has started testing its own AI chat bot in the Nightly version of the Firefox browser. Users will be able to choose from several AI services including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, HuggingChat and Le Chat Mistral to summarise information, test knowledge or simplify text.
Here's What We Know
In its blog post, Mozilla explained why it gives users a choice of artificial intelligence services. This is done so that users decide for themselves which service is best for them, rather than being limited to one option, because each model has both pros and cons. To try out the innovation, you need to install the experimental version of Nightly, activate the AI chat bot integration option in the settings and select your preferred bot.
The company presents this update as an opportunity for users to evaluate different chatbots and choose the most suitable one. Before releasing in beta and release versions of Firefox, the company plans to finalise the usability of different AI models.
Mozilla is following the lead of other browser developers like Microsoft and Google, which have already integrated their AI assistants Copilot and Gemini into Edge and Chrome respectively. Opera and DuckDuckGo have also joined the trend.
