The Portuguese Air Force has received a second Brazilian Embraer KC-390 Millennium aircraft into service

Brazilian company Embraer has handed over a new KC-390 Millennium transport aircraft to the Portuguese army.

The information was shared by the manufacturer. It is about the second aircraft. The first aircraft was handed over to Portugal in 2022, and the country should receive a total of five KC-390 Millennium. They will replace the old American aircraft C-130 Hercules.

The KC-390 Millennium is a multi-role military transport aircraft developed by Brazilian company Embraer. The KC-390 is designed to perform a wide range of missions including cargo and troop transport, aerial refuelling, medical evacuation and humanitarian missions. The aircraft is powered by two International Aero Engines V2500 turbofan engines.

The KC-390 is capable of carrying up to 26 tonnes of cargo, including military equipment and large containers. The aircraft is equipped with modern avionics and control systems. It can perform takeoffs and landings on unprepared runways. The KC-390 is actively used by the Brazilian Air Force and exported to other countries.
