WhatsApp users will be able to create events in group chats: Feature available in beta
WhatsApp has announced the Community Events feature, which will soon be available to non-community groups. Although the exact time of the global launch is unknown, some users of the 2.24.14.9 beta for Android can already take advantage of the feature.
Here's What We Know
WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot showing that the new events option is also available for regular group chats.
Here's How It Works
Now, when users click on the paperclip icon in a group chat, they will see a new Event icon that allows them to create new events. Group members can view and accept invitations to events, and only the event creator has the right to make changes. It is important to note that group events are protected by end-to-end encryption.
Android users who want to try out the events feature early can join WhatsApp's beta programme.
